Cleaner / Cleaner application
To achieve the best results when using adhesives, we recommend cleaning the parts to be bonded of any contaminants before applying the adhesive. Various manufacturers offer suitable cleaners for the component materials used, which remove grease, oil, and lubricants without leaving any residue. Based on our many years of experience, we can assist you in making the right choice. Our application systems can easily pump and apply these cleaners. We use felt applicators in the desired dimensions or our brush applicator with an extended service life.
Activator order
In addition to cleaning the parts to be bonded, activators are essential for initiating curing for some adhesives (e.g., modified acrylics), while for others (e.g., anaerobic adhesives), the activator is merely an option to improve or accelerate curing. Unlike primers, activators do not typically improve adhesion, but they do improve the cohesion of adhesives by ensuring reliable curing. These various activators can also be easily applied using our application systems.
Primer application
Primers are used to improve the adhesion and durability of the bond. The primer forms a so-called “bridge” between the material and the adhesive.
There is no universal primer for all existing adhesives. Therefore, when selecting a primer, you must always choose the right adhesive, or vice versa.
For this reason, manufacturers offer various primers to optimally improve adhesion and durability.
A significant advantage of primers compared to ionization or plasma surface pretreatment methods is their simple and energy-saving application.
The primer is precisely metered by our innovative Dimatec application systems using needle dispensers and applied in a wafer-thin, consistent layer with millimeter precision to the bonding surface.
After a short flash-off time (10 to 60 seconds), the adhesive is applied as usual, and the individual parts are joined together.
In other applications, the parts are cleaned and primed, and then gelled for bonding to the customer.
There, an activator must be applied to the component again before bonding by our Dimatec application system in order to activate the primer on the component before bonding.
Primer cabinet
The material control cabinet contains all the mechanical components necessary for the complex application, as well as an internal control system tailored to your requirements.
However, customer-specific suppliers can be accommodated for almost every component. Thanks to its modular and flexible design, our material control cabinet can be integrated into any automated control system.
The material control cabinet can be used either as a standalone control system or integrated into a higher-level main system control system via various interfaces. Our system features a touchscreen display on the door for monitoring and visualizing all important parameters at the plant level.
Material container
The custom-built ASM Dimatec material hopper has a capacity of 1.8 liters. An integrated agitator keeps the medium constantly moving, ensuring consistent application quality.
This allows for longer runtimes and less downtime for the system. A fill level sensor integrated into the material hopper is directly integrated into the control system to ensure constant monitoring.
If the fill level reaches a critical level, an alert is triggered. Production can continue without downtime, and the user can refill with new primer at a time that suits them (e.g., shift change). Complete emptying is also ensured, preventing one of the most common operating errors.
Primer or activator control box
The primer and/or activator control box is located on the application robot. This contains the control unit for the complex circuitry of all components. Also installed is a measuring unit for recording the primer quantity, which is intended for component-specific quality assurance of the application volume.
The precision pressure control valves installed there ensure the finest possible adjustment of all parameters to customer-specific processes.
Docking station
The docking station is used to pre-rinse and dab the applicator. When the robot is in its home position, the special applicators are located in the docking station’s rinsing tank. The rinsing tank provides a protective atmosphere that prevents the applicator from drying out.
Before each component is wetted, the applicator receives fresh material. Any excess material is dabbed off on a felt pad next to the rinsing tank. This increases the applicator’s service life.

Applicators
For special applications on different materials, we already have various sizes and models of felt and brush applicators. We would be happy to create custom applicators for you.
Primer shaker
The primer containers are clamped onto a vibrating plate to ensure the material is thoroughly mixed before filling. The container must remain on the vibrating plate for approximately 60 minutes.
